Records Department

Welcome to the Records Department of the Essex Police Department. Our department is responsible for the storage and maintenance of police records at the Essex Police Department. Our department also handles all request related to police records.

Requesting Records

If you are requesting police records that are Public Records, please complete the Essex Police Records Request Form found below and send it to us.

Important notes to know when requesting reports include:

  • Officer's reports (non-criminal), to include accidents, may not be completed for 30 days from the date of the incident.
  • Accident reports which resulted in a fatality can take substantially longer, sometimes months, due to the amount of investigation required.
