The Town of Essex Safety Committee was formed to provide our organization a means by which there is a continued focus on the overall safety requirements of our workplace. The Town's Safety Committee is made up of co-workers. In 1995 the committee developed a comprehensive Safety Manual, Handbook and training program.
Safety training has been institutionalized throughout the organization, particularly for the employees in the Public Works and Police Departments. A Safety Handbook, which provides an overview of the Town's policies and programs, is provided to every new employee as part of their orientation to the organization.
