No Other Lake Movie Screening brings Vermont Natural Resources Experts to EssexExplore Essex is excited to include a film screening of No Other Lake to their fall festival activities! No Other Lake is a documentary film by Essex locals Jordan Rowell and Duane Peterson III.
Motivated by a desire to better understand his home watershed, Jordan Rowell embarks on a two week kayaking trip along the 120-mile length of Lake Champlain, stopping along the way to talk to a wide range of characters about the future of their shared basin.
Set 50 years after the passage of the Clean Water Act, NO OTHER LAKE is both a celebration of the unique beauty of Lake Champlain and a confrontation with its greatest challenges. This adventure-conservation documentary strives to inspire people to better connect with the natural world around them, see issues from a different point of view, and get involved with stewardship efforts happening close to home. Two shows are available, each followed by a panel discussion with the film directors and special guests from the Vermont Natural Resources Council, including Karina Dailey, VNRC's Restoration Ecologist who will be on hand to answer questions.
This event is FREE, but seating is limited.

Essex Zip Code UpdateYou have the option to update your legal mailing address to ESSEX, VT 05452.
With separation of Essex Junction from the Town of Essex, questions have arisen about our shared ZIP code.
Within the last few weeks, with the help of Senator Bernie Sanders’ Office, the USPS AMS has been updated to allow ESSEX to be used as a recommended city/town name with the 05452 ZIP code. This allows anyone who chooses to update their legal mailing address to ESSEX, VT 05452.
BUSINESSES - If you own a business with the mailing address, "Essex Junction, VT 05452" you may have recently received a letter or email from the Vermont Department of Taxes asking you to update the location of your business. If your business is physically located within the Town of Essex, you must list the Town of Essex even if your mailing address is recognized by the USPS as "Essex Junction". If your business is located within the jurisdiction of the Town of Essex, but you are being charged for the local option tax for the City of Essex Junction, you may correct this error with this form from the State of Vermont website: REF-620.pdf (vermont.gov).
